To make sure that no students miss this once-in-a-year opportunity to get admission to study MBBS abroad, adequate arrangements were made to make students aware of the University’s participation well in advance, and registration support was provided through various online channels.

In the Fair, among other students, hundreds of Nigerian medical aspirants participated to meet our admission executives, get in-person counseling, and apply on-spot to 5-Year MD Program (equivalent to MBBS). For students who have qualified West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) conducted by West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by National Examinations Council of Nigeria (NECO), direct admission facility was provided in the Fair.

During the Fair, group counseling sessions were arranged where the students, as well as their parents and guardians, were apprised about the University, opportunity to study medicine in Americas, and various facilities available on the Campus for international students, including facility for hostel, mess, arrangements for safety and holistic development of the students.

In the counseling session, students and parents were provided the opportunity to ask their queries about the University, the medical program as well as Guyana, the country that is home to the University Campus and becomes second home for students during their 5-Year long medical education in Guyana.

During the interactive session, students raised several questions regarding career prospects for International Medical Graduates from Lincoln American University. The students were glad to know that the MD Program of the University is recognized not only in the Caribbean or Africa but in countries like India, United States, and Canada. Students interested in making a medical career in the United States were also explained the details of United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), a three-step examination that medical graduates need to qualify to get a license to practice medicine in the United States. We informed the students about the collaboration of LAU with Kaplan Medical, the world’s leading provider of USMLE preparation facilities, and how it can help them qualify two steps of the examination during their MD Program.

Regarding clinical rotations, students were apprised about the international clinical rotations opportunities available for students of LAU, including clinical training in University-affiliated hospitals in India, Guyana, Nepal, and the United States (through American Clinical Experience).

After the interactive session, students willing to study MBBS Abroad in Guyana filed an on-spot application for admission to the MD Program of the University (MD Program of Lincoln American University is an undergraduate medical program equivalent to MBBS).

The participation of LAU in the Nigeria International Education Fair made the MD admission process much easier for aspiring doctors in Nigeria. We are glad that our participation could help hundreds of medical aspirants get medical career guidance. While only the interested and eligible candidates got on-spot admission to our medical program for MBBS in Guyana, we are sure that guidance provided in the seminar will help the participating students move forward in their medical journey and make the right career choice ahead.

We are grateful for the organizers of the event, Lekkside Educational Consultant, and all the staff and members of the Fair without whose support, our participation could not be successful. On occasion, we congratulate all the students who got admission to the MD Program and now will join the next batch on the University’s campus in Georgetown City to start their medical education in the beautiful country of Guyana, the only English-speaking country in South America.

Students who missed the opportunity to attend the fair or could not apply to the MD Program at the Fair do not need to worry. The online application window for admission is still open, and you can apply to the MD Program of the University through your smartphone or Laptop with an internet connection. For further inquiries on admission, feel free to contact us. Once we receive your request, one of our admission advisors will get back to you and will help you through the entire admission process and move closer to your dream of becoming a doctor.
