Guyana Celebrates 59 Years of Independence in India

The High Commission of Guyana in India recently commemorated Guyana's 59th Independence Anniversary at ITC Maurya in New Delhi. The event attracted diplomats, Indian business leaders, and representatives of various organisations.

Shri Periasamy Kumaran, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs, was the chief guest. He talked about the strong bond India and Guyana have with each other. He further expressed how India is committed to collaborating with Guyana for its advancements. High Commissioner of Guyana to India, H.E. Dharamkumar Seeraj, also emphasized the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.

The event invited key people like Air Marshal (Dr) Pawan Kapoor, who is the Vice Chancellor of Lincoln American University. Abhijeet Varma, Academic Coordinator at Lincoln American University, also accompanied him.

Dr Kapoor exchanged warm greetings with H.E. Dharamkumar Seeraj and Shri Periasamy Kumaran, reflecting the cordial spirit of the occasion. The High Commission of Guyana expressed its gratitude to all attendees for joining the celebration of Guyana’s 59th Independence Anniversary.
