Air Marshal (Dr.) Pawan Kapoor, AVSM, VSM BAR, PHS assumed the appointment of Vice Chancellor of Lincoln American University, Guyana with effect from Jan 2018 after superannuating from the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services as Director General of Medical Services (Indian Air Force) on 31st Dec 2017.
He is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and was commissioned into the Army Medical Corps (AMC) on 10 October 1979. He holds a Post Graduate degree in Hospital Administration from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Amongst his other qualifications are Diplomate of National Board (Health & Hospital Administration) from National Board of Examinations (NBE), Diploma in Hospital and Health Management (DHHM), Masters in Management Studies (MMS) (Osmania University), MBA (IGNOU) and M Phil (Defence and Strategic Management).
He has held several professional and administrative appointments in the Armed Forces Medical Services and published more than 40 scientific publications in several journals and written more than 10 Chapters in various books. He is one of the founder member of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care providers and is also an assessor of International Society of Quality Assurance in Health care.
He has joined Lincoln American University as the Vice Chancellor with a vision to create a class of qualified, innovative, and dynamic doctors who will strive hard for the cause of improving the health care delivery to those who need it the most.
